GRC 2019 > 2020

What a first year for GRC!

From the humble beginning of being a simple idea over coffee, into a growing runners club now passing 140+ members, its been a fantastic journey.

When we launched GRC we had the simple idea of:

  • Free membership

  • Frequent runs around Geelong

  • A social community to celebrate runs + GRC vibes

Well I think we exceeded those marks, and we really couldn’t have done it without the support of our runners, along with the backing of our local business partners.

As I reflect on 2019, I thought it might be best to just list the achievements in a list:

  • FEB 19 - Launch of GRC

  • Launched Strava page and reached 100+ members in in a couple of weeks

  • Strava ‘Verified’ GRC as a top Run Crew

  • We launched our social media platforms and have 3,500+ followers on Instagram

  • GRC listed on ‘Running Crews’ - top run clubs around the globe

  • We welcomed support from Endura Sports Endurance, Geelong Osteopathy, & Nourishing Life Nutrition

  • Founders, Tristan & Leigh - ran around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo

  • GRC members took part in multiple races: Run the Gap, Geelong River Run, Lara Run, Run Melbourne, Bellarine Rain Trail, Melbourne Marathon, and more.

  • We held a total of 47 Club Runs during the year

  • We launched a GRC uniform

  • We welcomed Latrobe Health Centre & Pro Feet Podiatry as platinum sponsors to GRC

  • Finally, we met so many like minded runners along the way - everyone with their own goal, own ideas, and own story. We thank you for your support.

Im excited for 2020 and I believe we can take GRC to the next step. All we need is for members to come along now and again to a GRC run and keep the vibes flowing.

GRC Melbourne Marathon 2019

I wish all GRC members and their families a very Merry Christmas along with a safe start to the new year!

Cheers,
